The Oroville Initiative (TOI) was pleased to be invited and assist the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Okanogan Council of Governments (OCOG) to help “Make A Difference” at the Whistler Canyon trailhead. Members of TOI joined fifteen volunteers to clean up the Whistler Canyon trailhead on Saturday 10/26/2024 for National Make a Difference Day. The volunteer crew included folks from Okanogan County Public Works, Backcountry Horsemen of WA, The Oroville Initiative and USFS joining the BLM staff. Projects included:

  •  burning Russian thistle and other weeds

  • clearing most of the Frog Pond trail

  • weed whacking around the parking lot, campsites, trail and bulletin boards

  • clearing weeds off the edges of the entrance trail.

TOI was pleased to make a difference at this trailhead!
