Oroville Student Reports

The high school FBLA team is hosting a pancake breakfast on March 1 at 7 a.m. at the Eagles
in order to raise funds for sending qualifying students to the state competition in Bellevue on
April 23.

In early February, the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) team traveled to Eastmont
High School to compete with other teams in the region. Eight team members qualified for state
across a variety of events, but the team requires funding in order to send these students to
Bellevue. Funds are needed to cover the hotel stay, food, and costs for entry to the competition.
Sophomore Ava Langford placed first in Introduction to Parliamentary Procedure against 53
other individuals in the region. Senior Brian Cisneros placed first in Advertising against 85 other
students. Other qualifiers include Senior Luke Studard, Senior Bryan Cisneros, Senior Xavier
Garcia, Sophomore David Smither, Junior Hazel Fogg, Junior Gwyndolyn Thompson, and
eighth grader Larissa Elias.

FBLA advisor Kevin Cruz is grateful for any donations and encourages the community to “help
invest in the future of Orovilles' next generation of business leaders,” by attending the breakfast.
